Product Description: Silad B700 Silicone Antifoam

At Quimiconsult we manufacture Silad B700, a high-efficiency concentrated silicone-based antifoam (polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS) designed for foam control and suppression in aqueous and non-aqueous systems. Silad B700 is a slightly creamy white liquid with 100% active content, water-dispersible, extremely stable and easy to handle, making it ideal for industrial processes that need a reliable, long-lasting foam control solution. Recommended for use in alkaline, neutral and acidic systems, Silad B700 maintains excellent performance even under demanding conditions, helping maximize production capacity and avoid the operational problems foam causes. As a direct manufacturer operating under an SQF (Safe Quality Food) certified quality management system, we guarantee lot-to-lot consistency, with availability from our plant in Monterrey, Nuevo León, and shipping throughout Mexico.

Foam is one of the most costly and underestimated operational problems in industry: it reduces the usable capacity of tanks and reactors, causes spills and shutdowns, interferes with pumps and sensors, lowers oxygen transfer efficiency in water treatment plants and affects the quality of cleaning and formulation processes. Silad B700 acts on foam through the characteristic mechanism of silicone antifoams: PDMS droplets, with low surface tension and insoluble in the foaming medium, enter the bubble walls, destabilize the film that supports them and cause them to rupture, eliminating existing foam (defoaming action) and preventing its formation (antifoam action). Its very low effective dose and great durability make it a cost-effective option compared with other types of antifoams.

For anyone searching for how to eliminate foam in an industrial process, a silicone-based antifoam, an antifoam for detergents and alkaline cleaners, an antifoam for wastewater treatment, a PDMS defoamer or a concentrated foam suppressant with a wide pH range, Silad B700 is the technical answer from the Quimiconsult catalog, backed by in-house manufacturing and dosing advice.

Silad B700 Applications

Water and Wastewater Treatment

Silad B700 controls foam in wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), aeration tanks, activated sludge systems, clarifiers and processes where foam reduces oxygen transfer efficiency, causes overflows and hinders operation. For wastewater and chemical processing operations, the recommended initial evaluation level is 40 ppm of the product as received.

Alkaline Cleaners, Detergents and CIP Cleaning

As an antifoam additive in alkaline cleaner and heavy-duty detergent formulations, Silad B700 prevents excess foam that interferes with rinsing, recirculation and cleaning system performance. In CIP (Clean in Place) processes, where foam can affect flow, contact and cycle efficiency, Silad B700 keeps foam under control for effective cleaning and fast rinsing.

Recirculation Systems and Chemical Processes

In recirculation systems, cooling towers and chemical processes in general, Silad B700 prevents foam buildup that reduces tank capacity, interferes with pumps and sensors and compromises process stability. Its stable performance across a wide pH range makes it suitable for a wide variety of process streams.

Specialty Chemical Formulation and Silicone Emulsions

Silad B700 is used as an antifoam component in specialty chemical formulations and as a base for developing custom antifoam silicone emulsions, taking advantage of its high active content and easy dispersion in water.

Other Industrial Applications

Given the versatility of silicone antifoams, Silad B700 can be evaluated in other industrial processes where foam is an operational problem, such as process industries, waterborne coatings and inks, textiles, paper, fermentation and various formulations. Suitability and dosage for each application must be validated under the customer's specific conditions; Quimiconsult's technical team can support the trials.

Silad B700 Compared with Other Antifoams

Silicone (PDMS) antifoam vs. organic / oil-based antifoams:
silicone antifoams such as Silad B700 offer greater efficiency at very low doses, fast action both to break existing foam and to prevent its formation, and excellent stability over a wide pH and temperature range. Organic or oil-based antifoams may be suitable in certain systems, but they usually require higher doses and offer less durability.

Silicone antifoam vs. EO/PO-based antifoams (polyalkylene glycols):
EO/PO antifoams have an advantage in some silicone-sensitive processes (for example, where silicone must be completely absent because of surface defects in coatings), but in most aqueous cleaning, water treatment and chemical process systems, silicone offers the best balance of efficiency, dosage and durability.

Silad B700 vs. generic antifoams without specifications:
Silad B700 guarantees 100% active content, specified viscosity and pH, lot-to-lot consistency and complete regulatory documentation, compared with generic products of variable quality and traceability.
