Emulsifiers for Paints & Coatings

Description of NF 10 M — Nonylphenol Ethoxylate with 10 Moles of Ethylene Oxide At Quimiconsult we offer NF 10 M, also known as 10-mole nonylphenol ethoxylate, nonylphenol with 10 ethylene oxide units, NPE 10, NPEO 10, nonoxynol-10 or nonyl phenol 10 EO, a nonionic surfactant widely used in the agrochemical, textile, paints and coatings, industrial chemicals, institutional cleaning and manufacturing process industries. It acts simultaneously as a dispersant, degreaser, detergent, emulsifier, solubilizer and wetting agent, making it one of the most versatile and highest-volume nonionic surfactants in industry worldwide. It is a clear liquid, practically colorless to slightly yellowish, with a 1% aqueous solution pH in the range of 5.0 to 8.0, maximum moisture of 0.3% by weight, color of maximum 50 units on the Pt-Co scale, cloud point of 60 to 67 °C at 1% aqueous, nominal HLB of 12.0 to 13.0 and density of 1.00 to 1.07 g/mL at 25 °C. Its structure consists of a nonylphenol molecule wit…

Polysorbate 20 Description — Tween 20, the Highest-HLB Nonionic Solubilizer in Its Family At Quimiconsult we offer Polysorbate 20, also known as Tween 20, polisorbato 20 (its Spanish name), polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monolaurate, PEG-20 sorbitan monolaurate or by its INCI name Polysorbate 20, a multifunctional nonionic surfactant widely used in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, cleaning, agrochemical, textile, paint and animal care industries for its unique combination of properties: the highest HLB value in the polysorbate family (between 16 and 17), excellent ability to solubilize oils, flavors and fragrances in aqueous media, stability over a wide pH range (acidic and alkaline), no reactivity with ionic agents, complete water miscibility, broad chemical compatibility and a safe industrial handling profile. It is a yellow liquid at room temperature, practically odorless, soluble or dispersible in water, with a hydroxyl number of 100, a pH of 6.0 to 6.5 (5% aqueous solution), ma…

Polysorbate 60 Description — Tween 60, the Benchmark Nonionic Emulsifier for Creams and Lotions At Quimiconsult we offer Polysorbate 60, also known as Tween 60, polisorbato 60 (its Spanish name), polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monostearate, PEG-20 sorbitan monostearate or by its INCI name Polysorbate 60, a nonionic surfactant widely used in the cosmetics, food, pharmaceutical, cleaning, textile and manufacturing industries for its combination of properties: excellent ability to emulsify fatty phases with body and consistency, stability over a wide pH range (acidic and alkaline), no reactivity with ionic agents, water dispersibility, broad chemical compatibility and a safe handling profile. It is a paste at room temperature with a characteristic odor, soluble or dispersible in water, with a hydroxyl value of 81 to 96, a maximum acid value of 2.2 and a maximum free ethylene oxide content of 10 ppm, parameters that guarantee consistent quality and predictable formulation performance. Unli…

NF 4 M description — Nonylphenol Ethoxylate with 4 Moles of Ethylene Oxide (Industrial Grade Nonionic Surfactant)   At Quimiconsult we offer NF 4 M, also known as 4-mole Nonylphenol Ethoxylate, nonylphenol with 4 ethylene oxide units, NP-4, NPE-4, nonyl phenol 4 EO or NP 4 Moles, an industrial grade nonionic surfactant made from a nonylphenol molecule with 4 ethylene oxide units. It acts as a dispersant, degreaser, detergent, emulsifier and solubilizer, and because of its low degree of ethoxylation it sits at the lipophilic end of the nonylphenol ethoxylate family, which makes it especially valuable as an emulsifier for oily systems, a synthesis intermediate, a dispersing agent in low-polarity phases and a component for adjusting the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of formulations.   It is a clear to translucent liquid, 100% active (no diluents), with CAS number 9016-45-9, concentrate pH of 6.0 to 8.0, viscosity of 240 to 260 cPs, density of 1.00 to 1.03 g/mL at 25 °C and a maxim…

NF 70 Description — Nonylphenol Ethoxylate with 70 Moles of Ethylene Oxide (Extremely Hydrophilic Nonionic Surfactant)   At Quimiconsult we offer NF 70, also known as nonylphenol ethoxylate 70 moles, nonylphenol with 70 units of ethylene oxide, NP-70, NPE-70, nonoxynol-70 or nonyl phenol 70 EO, an industrial grade nonionic surfactant with a very high HLB (extreme hydrophilicity) made from a nonylphenol molecule with 70 units of ethylene oxide. It is the grade with the highest ethoxylation and highest HLB in the NF family (around 18 to 19), which gives it extreme hydrophilicity and irreplaceable performance as a maximum-efficiency protective colloid and steric stabilizer, very high HLB emulsifier and stabilizer for demanding aqueous systems, especially in emulsion polymerization and in applications that require the greatest electrolyte tolerance and colloidal stability.   It is typically supplied as a light-colored, nonionic waxy solid (flake, pastille or paste) or, depending on the gr…
