Glacial Acetic Acid Description: Maximum-Concentration Natural Acidulant At Quimiconsult we offer food grade Glacial Acetic Acid, a clear, colorless liquid with a minimum acetic acid content of 99.8% by weight, produced to Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) standards and Kosher certified. It is the most concentrated and pure form of acetic acid, commonly known as the active ingredient in vinegar, obtained through distillation and purification processes that remove virtually all residual water. Hence the term "glacial," which refers to its tendency to solidify at temperatures close to 16.7°C when it reaches maximum purity. Glacial acetic acid is one of the most versatile short-chain organic acids available to the food, meat, pickling, bakery, sauce and industrial cleaning industries. Its mechanism of action as a preservative is based on lowering the pH of the medium to levels that inhibit the growth of bacteria, molds and yeasts, combined with the direct antimicrobial action of the undissociat…

Lactic Acid 88%: High-Purity Natural Preservative At Quimiconsult we offer food grade Lactic Acid 88%, manufactured by Henan Jindan, one of the most recognized lactic acid producers worldwide. It is a colorless to light yellowish translucent liquid, produced through the controlled fermentation of natural carbohydrates, which gives it a bio-based profile, high biodegradability and compatibility with modern formulations that demand cleaner, more natural ingredients. With a guaranteed purity between 87.5% and 88.5% (w/w), this organic acid acts as a pH regulator, antimicrobial preservative, flavor enhancer and texture control agent in a wide variety of food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical matrices. Its hygroscopic nature, odorless character and complete solubility in water and alcohol make it versatile and easy to incorporate into continuous industrial processes. Unlike synthetic preservatives, lactic acid is a compound that the human body naturally produces and metabolizes, making it a pre…

Propionic Acid USP Description: Short-Chain Antimicrobial Preservative At Quimiconsult we offer USP grade Propionic Acid, a clear, colorless liquid with a minimum purity of 99.5%, produced under the strict standards of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). It is a short-chain organic fatty acid with powerful antimicrobial properties, widely used as a preservative, acidulant and antifungal agent in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and animal feed industries. Its mechanism of action is based on the ability of the molecule, in its undissociated form, to penetrate the cell membrane of fungi, molds and certain bacteria, interfering with their metabolism and stopping their proliferation. This action is especially effective in products with a pH between 4.0 and 6.0, the typical range of breads, cheeses, cured meats and processed foods. Unlike other synthetic preservatives, propionic acid is a compound that occurs naturally in certain fermented foods, which positions it favorably in formula…

Potassium Iodate (KIO₃) Description: A High-Purity Stabilizer and Oxidizer At Quimiconsult we offer USP grade Potassium Iodate, a fine white powder with a purity of 99.0‑101.0% that meets pharmaceutical and food standards. Product description: Sodium Propionate, food grade food preservative At Quimiconsult we distribute fine powder Sodium Propionate (CH3‑CH2‑COONa), a food grade food preservative recognized worldwide for its ability to inhibit the growth of molds and fungi in bakery, tortilla, pastry and a wide variety of processed food products. Sodium Propionate acts as a contact antifungal agent that interferes with the enzymatic metabolism of filamentous fungi, preventing their proliferation without affecting the organoleptic characteristics of the final product or altering yeast fermentation processes. Unlike other food preservatives that can inhibit the activity of biological yeasts, Sodium Propionate is fully compatible with fermentation processes, which makes it the preservative of choice for the baking industry. This compatibility means that bakers and formulators can add it directly to the dough without adjusting fermentation times, yeast quantities or process conditions, maintaining the quali…

Description of antimicrobial potassium sorbate At Quimiconsult we offer food grade Potassium Sorbate, manufactured by Nantong Acetic Acid®, a preservative used worldwide for its high antimicrobial efficacy, chemical stability and compatibility with multiple matrices. It comes as a fine-grained white powder, 100 % active and highly soluble in water, which makes it easy to incorporate evenly into both liquid formulations and dry blends, without leaving residue, causing turbidity or interfering with the production process. Potassium sorbate acts as a selective antimicrobial agent, effective against molds, yeasts and fungi, particularly in low-pH products, where it performs best. Its mechanism of action inhibits the microbial growth responsible for spoilage, without affecting desirable microorganisms or altering the organoleptic properties of the final product. Thanks to its high purity and stability, potassium sorbate helps extend shelf life, maintain microbiological safety and preserve…
