Dispersants for Plastic & Rubber

Description of PVP K30, a film former At Quimiconsult we offer USP/NF 26 grade PVP K30, also known as polyvinylpyrrolidone K30 or povidone K30. It is an amorphous, hygroscopic, linear, nonionic synthetic polymer, supplied as a white granular powder with a K value between 27.0 and 32.4. Its CAS number is 9003-39-8 and its systematic chemical name is 2-pyrrolidinone, 1-ethenyl-, homopolymer. PVP K30 is highly soluble in water and in a wide variety of organic solvents, including alcohols, glycols, organic acids and chlorinated compounds, making it one of the most versatile polymers available for industrial formulation. This exceptional solubility, combined with its nonionic nature, makes PVP K30 compatible with virtually any formulation system without altering the pH, reacting with other active ingredients or creating incompatibilities that limit its use. The most distinctive property of PVP K30 is its ability to form clear, glossy, flexible and tough films with adhesive, cohesive and di…

Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate (SNF) Description – Industrial Dispersant and Water Reducer At Quimiconsult we offer Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde (SNF or SNF-A), a high-performance anionic dispersant and industrial-grade water reducer, supplied as a light brown powder with a minimum active content of 91 %. This product is designed to improve the dispersion, flowability and stability of systems containing fine solids and is widely used in construction, agrochemicals, ceramics, coatings, gypsum, cement, mineral slurries and other industrial applications.   SNF works by reducing the tension between solid particles and the liquid medium, which lowers the amount of water required, improves mix homogeneity and optimizes the performance of the final system. Thanks to its sulfonated polymer structure, it makes it easier to formulate more stable, workable and consistent mixes, without adversely affecting the mechanical or functional properties of the finished product. This sodium sul…

Description of NMP N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone 99.8% — Industrial-Grade Polar Aprotic Solvent in Mexico   At Quimiconsult we distribute NMP N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone 99.8%, also known as 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or N-methylpyrrolidone (CAS 872-50-4), an industrial-grade polar aprotic solvent with a minimum purity of 99.8%, colorless, with a high boiling point, low volatility and low viscosity. It is miscible with water in all proportions and offers high chemical and thermal stability, which makes it one of the reference solvents for dissolving engineering polymers and resins in coatings, varnishes, wire enamels and adhesives, as well as for paint stripping, industrial cleaning and as a solvent for agrochemicals and pigments in Mexican industry.   NMP belongs to the lactam family: it is a five-membered cyclic amide with a methyl group on the nitrogen. That structure gives it a highly polar molecule, but with no acidic hydrogens available to donate hydrogen bonds; that is why it is classed as a p…
