Methylparaben USP grade antimicrobial preservative, cosmetic and pharmaceutical grade. Fine white powder with 98.0–102.0% active content. Broad-spectrum biocide with excellent bacteriostatic and fungicidal power, effective against gram-positive bacteria, fungi, and yeasts. Soluble in ethanol (96%) and methanol; slightly soluble in water. Applications: personal care formulations, cosmetics, and some food products. Properties: suitable solubility for alcoholic systems, heavy metals (as Pb) ≤ 10 mg/kg. Also known as E218. CAS 99-76-3. Available in Monterrey, with shipping throughout Mexico.
